Shanda McNew, MPT

Growing up the daughter of an athletic trainer and a physical therapist clinic director-turned-owner, Shanda Reynolds McNew spent much of her youth watching her parents devote their talents to helping others recover from injuries and improve the quality of the lives they touched.  Following a career-ending athletic knee injury, surgical repair, and extensive physical therapy instrumental in her recovery, she decided that helping others return to the life and activities they loved was also her passion and her “WHY”.  She graduated from West Virginia University’s School of Physical Therapy with a Masters Degrees in 2000.  A month later, along with her mentor, best friend, and new business partner, Shanda and her mom, Teresa Reynolds, opened PRO PT in August of 2000.

Shanda has 19 years of experience dedicated to treating in the out-patient private practice setting.  She is a certified Wound Care Specialist (WCC) as well as a certified ASTYM provider. She has received specialty training in Aquatic Physical Therapy, Fall Prevention and Balance Training, Sacroiliac and Pelvic Girdle Dysfunctions, Orthotic Fitting, and Post-Operative Orthopedic and Joint Replacement Physical Therapy.  In 2016, when Teresa retired to devote her time to being “Nan” to her 3 grandsons and Harley-riding with the love of her life, Shanda and her husband Glen took a leap of faith and bought PRO PT in its entirety, making the mother-daughter duo now a husband-and-wife team.  Shanda and Glen have been very fortunate with a growing clinic that continues to be well received in the Preston County area with 2 locations currently.  However, the owners truly credit PRO PT’s success to the amazing team of therapists and supportive staff that take phenomenal care of our patients and our community.

Any other time, you can find Shanda’s world revolving around her boys. . . Brady, 13 , Bryson, 10, and of course, her husband Glen.  And chances are if not at the clinic or their little slice of “Almost Heaven” at home, she will be at the baseball field watching one of the three do what they love most. . . as she is their biggest fan!
