Steven Groves, PT, DPT

Growing up in Preston County as a high school multi-sport athlete, Steven relied on the skills and knowledge of the therapists at PRO PT to allow a quick and healthy return to playing sports throughout his high school career. While Steven always had a strong interest in pursuing a career in physical therapy, he originally started out as a Computer Science major at West Virginia University. While Steven was not always described as a “people person” by many of his close friends and family and usually kept to himself, he knew that he had the desire and passion to do more for his community and help individuals live a higher quality of life.

Steven received his Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Physiology at West Virginia University and then worked for 3 years as a Personal Trainer and Fitness Specialist at Healthworks Rehab & Fitness while receiving his Golf Fitness Specialist and Corrective Exercise Specialist certifications. Steven later received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from West Virginia University in 2018.

Steven began his Physical Therapy career right where it all began - here at PRO PT. As a Preston County native, Steven strives to share the skills and knowledge gained throughout his career to provide the best care possible to his hometown community while educating individuals on the importance of living an active lifestyle.

When not in the clinic, you can find Steven spending time with his wife, Brooke, his oldest daughter, Blakelyn, and their most recent addition of twin daughters, Sage and Palmer. Steven also enjoys playing recreational sports such as softball and basketball and remaining active in the community.
